SOLVE THE GRID WITH LOGIC AND INEQUALITY CLUES
Futoshiki Unlimited is a logic number game based on a grid filled with numbers, empty cells, and inequality signs. Your job is to complete each board while keeping every row and column free of repeated numbers and making every < or > clue correct.
The Unlimited format lets you move from one puzzle to another instead of stopping after a single grid. Each new board changes the placement of numbers and inequality clues, giving you another logic problem to work through. If you enjoy number puzzles that reward careful thinking, start a new Futoshiki Unlimited puzzle and see how far your deductions can take you.
HOW TO COMPLETE A FUTOSHIKI PUZZLE
Begin by checking the numbers already placed on the board and the inequality signs around them. Then narrow down the possible values for each empty cell.
- Follow the row and column rule: Every row and column must contain each available number exactly once. A number already used in a line cannot be placed there again.
- Read every inequality: < means the number on the left is smaller, while > means the number on the left is larger. These relationships only apply to the two cells directly beside the sign.
- Use elimination: Remove numbers that conflict with the row, column, or neighboring inequality. When only one value remains possible, place it and use that new information to continue.
- Mark possibilities: Use notes or pencil marks when a cell has several possible values. This helps track deductions without committing too early.
Work Through The Harder Clues
Inequality chains are especially useful in Futoshiki Unlimited when several connected cells must increase or decrease in order. Combine these relationships with missing numbers in nearby rows and columns to narrow down each possibility step by step. Proper deduction helps you solve the puzzle without relying on random guesses.
